What is the history of the 6 Hours of Spa?

The [6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps](/circuits/spa-francorchamps) has been a WEC fixture every year since the championship's 2012 inaugural season, making Spa the most-raced circuit in WEC history with 15 events from 2012 through 2026.
