Which teams race in the WEC Hypercar class in 2026?
Nine teams run 17 full-season Hypercars in the 2026 WEC, representing eight manufacturers: Toyota, Ferrari, BMW, Cadillac, Alpine, Aston Martin, Peugeot and newcomer Genesis. Ferrari fields three cars across two teams, and every other manufacturer two. All 17 cars started each of the first six rounds, from Imola to Fuji, and Cadillac added an 18th car at Le Mans. Porsche, which raced 963s in every 2025 round, has no Hypercar entry.

What is the fastest LMDh car?
On raw lap time in our archive, the fastest LMDh car is the Cadillac V-Series.R: its 1:24.498 at Interlagos in 2025 is the quickest race lap any LMDh has set in the WEC, six hundredths ahead of the best from the Porsche 963. But the honest answer is that Balance of Performance keeps the LMDh field inside a window where "fastest" changes hands by circuit and by season, and the gap from best to fourth-best is under a second.

What does LMDh stand for?
LMDh stands for Le Mans Daytona h, with the lowercase h officially left ambiguous but universally read as hybrid. The name was chosen in 2020 when the ACO, organiser of Le Mans, and IMSA, organiser of the Daytona 24, agreed on a common prototype platform that could race for outright victory in both. The clumsy capitalisation is the point: the category belongs to both races at once.
