Le Mans Test Day

The mandatory test at La Sarthe the weekend before race week, the only running on the full circuit before the event.

The Test Day is the official test session at the Circuit de la Sarthe held before Le Mans race week. Because most of the lap runs on public roads that stay open the rest of the year, this is the only chance teams get to run the full circuit before the event itself, which makes it mandatory homework rather than an optional shakedown: crews with Le Mans rookies use it to complete required familiarisation laps.

Test Day times are excluded from our records; the numbers that count start when the race week's official sessions begin.
