GTE (Pro and Am)
The WEC's GT formula until 2023, split into all-professional Pro and amateur-anchored Am divisions.
GTE, Grand Touring Endurance, was the WEC's GT formula from 2012 until 2023: purpose-developed racing versions of sports cars like the Porsche 911 RSR, Ferrari 488 GTE and Corvette C8.R, faster and far more expensive than their GT3 cousins.
The class ran in two divisions. GTE Pro took all-professional factory crews and hosted some of the era's best racing; it ended after 2022 when manufacturers redirected budgets to Hypercar. GTE Am required amateur-graded drivers in every crew and continued one more season before LMGT3 replaced the whole formula in 2024.
