Equivalence of Technology (EoT)

The LMP1-era formula that tried to balance hybrid factory cars against non-hybrid privateers.

Equivalence of Technology was the LMP1-era balancing mechanism: a table of energy and fuel-flow allowances meant to let non-hybrid privateer prototypes race the factory hybrids on something like equal terms after Audi and Porsche's departures left Toyota alone at the front.

It never fully closed the gap, and the seasons of adjustment arguments that followed were part of why the Hypercar class replaced the formula with a more comprehensive Balance of Performance. The term still appears when regulators need to align dissimilar powertrains rather than merely similar cars.
