Super Season

The 2018-19 bridge season that ran across two calendar years and included two 24 Hours of Le Mans.

The Super Season was the WEC's 2018-19 campaign, a deliberately stretched championship that ran from May 2018 to June 2019 while the series moved its calendar to a winter format ending at Le Mans. It remains the only world championship season to include the 24 Hours of Le Mans twice.

The winter format lasted one more cycle: the 2019-20 season ran into 2020, collided with the pandemic, and the championship returned to a calendar-year format in 2021. For statistics this era is why some season labels in our archive span two years and why a race's calendar year can differ from its season label.
